Carmen Lucia Ruby, spectacular 23.1 carat ruby set in a platinum ring flanked by two trillion cut diamonds. It displays a rich, saturated homogenous red color combined with fabulous transparency & exceptional crystallization. One of the largest fine faceted Burmese rubies known to mankind, it was donated by businessman and philanthropist Peter Buck in memory of his wife Carmen LĂșcia to Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. Mined in Mogok region of Burma in the 1930s, with a fine proportional cut, this exceptional Ruby exhibits a vivid red color reflections.
The chairman of the museum rightly said,
While sapphires, emeralds and diamonds weighing hundreds of carats exist, high quality rubies larger than 20 carats are exceedingly rare.
What do you think about this beautiful gift of love? I'd love to know your comments & reactions.
